Stuck at Home [Stuck in Vermont 608]


♪ ♪ Hello everybody and what a week it has
been. I am still in my house in Burlington and hey, I’m wearing my
bathrobe because I work from home and I’m in bed because I’m not feeling so
great. And the governor just issued a stay at home order so it’s official,
if you don’t have to be out there, you should be staying home. ♪ But I’m trapped ♪ ♪ Trapped in my house ♪ ♪ Forever ♪ I hope all of you out there are doing well because
we’re all stuck at home and this video series is called Stuck in Vermont, it
seemed like the time to put out a call on social media asking all of you to
share what you’re doing as we go through this wild time in our lives. I’m not crying you’re crying. This is what I do, this is my passion this is what I
love to do and this is what I’m gonna keep doing. I don’t care if I’m in my
basement, I don’t have a basement but if I’m in my living room, I’ll still do it
for you guys. And step together, step, me me! So we’re all trying to figure out
how to navigate this new reality as we all are stuck at home and sheltering in
place and it’s really interesting looking at the internet and social media
and seeing how everyone is handling this. And what they’re doing, many of them are
laid off now so they have time on their hands. Some people are helping others
which is so great to see people who are making masks and baking bread and feeding people. I’m Jamba, welcome to Junktique’s Storytime. I am all alone in my pad man, my piled up
to the ceiling with junk pad. All of us are sort of figuring out how to stay in
touch and stay connected when we cannot physically be connected. So people have
been doing conference calls with friends and having dinner and cocktail hour. We’ll make that while the stuff is in the oven. I am going to cook dinner with my sister
in Winter Park, Florida. We’ve been doing this for six years now. Oh and parsnips. Just a way to connect and kind of be in
the same room but not. -Sauce.
-Scintillating television. We’re talking this way right now because we’re in,
I call it the new normal, that’s what I call it. Everybody’s connecting, kind of the
way you two have stayed connected. Even our last post I’m like, “Yeah, we’ve been doing this…we’re old pros, you know.” ♪ Unicorn Heads, “A Mystical Experience” ♪ Hehe, cat wrestle! You know obviously hugs
and all those things, you know. I’m a hugger, so you know like,
this is a tough time for me. Yes, it’s hard for the huggers. ♪ Doesn’t look like I’ll leave ♪ ♪ My house for weeks ♪ ♪ I hewed up some beams ♪ ♪ In my house this week ♪ ♪ Got plenty of weed ♪ ♪ In my house this week ♪ ♪ I guess I’ll be ♪ ♪ In my house this week ♪ ♪ ♪ My mom is also at home
with me and we are just keeping our distance from each other. I’m just so proud to live here in Burlington. I can’t think of anywhere on earth
I would rather be right now. If anybody needs food,
they know somebody who needs food, give us a call, we’re baking bread every day, making soup, we’re ready to help. And you know, just hang in there everybody, do good, take care of yourself. It was just all over the news and
I thought it was pretty funny so I just woke up last Friday morning and was like, “I’m gonna make myself a toilet paper hat.” Yeah, and we picked Feeding Chittenden because they knew they were gonna need a lot of help so. And it’s amazing how fast the world came to like a stop. It wasn’t like a slow trickle of jobs drying up,
it was just like, “Boop!” Everything disappeared. It’s definitely never, I mean it’s
never happened in our lifetime. But it will be like the most well
documented event of our lifetime. ♪ ♪ Come on Toby, let’s go let the ducks out, come on. So what am I doing while I’m
stuck at home here in Vermont? Well, ordinarily I would have to commute to work but I’m working from home at least
for the next several days. Release the Quackens! So that just means I’ll be hanging out here with the ducks and the dog and geese
and everybody else around the the farm. I’m kind of enjoying it actually. [quacking & honking] ♪ [drumming] ♪ ♪ My funny Quarantine ♪ [sped up] Well, I need to take a break and walk around my vast apartment. Here we go, on the exercise loop. Oop, step on this thing, haha, yes, do it again. Here we go, hoo, one more, oh yeah. Step on this thing, how bout the couch? Hehehehe! This schooling your kids from home thing is like overwhelming. I am not cut out to be a stay at home teacher. ♪ Do you wanna build a snowman ♪ ♪ Come on let’s go and play ♪ ♪ I never see you anymore ♪ ♪ And out the door it’s like you’ve gone away ♪ ♪ We used to be best buddies ♪ ♪ Now we’re not ♪ ♪ I wish you would tell me why ♪ It might not look like it but
we are all 6 feet apart for sure. Really hard for me to not touch my face. ♪ You got problems ♪ ♪ Sometimes I try to solve them ♪ ♪ You got problems ♪ ♪ Sometimes I try to solve them ♪ ♪ ♪ We’re gonna breathe in through the nose. And then go, ahhhhhhhh. Go! ♪ ♪ First, add the bourbon, 1/2 ounce,
ounce, two, who cares? Quarantine rules. Sizes don’t matter. Little pickle juice in the other. There’s gonna be so much hugging when this is over. You know, like I just want to hug everyone. And the rest of us will just have to follow suit with our own Dinnernets. I got him, I got me, I got you all, so we’re gonna be okay. At least spring is coming, that’s my big, I’m
like, at least it’s not winter. Spread the love, it’s all we can do. -Day by day.

really sweet comments about the video about my mom. I couldn’t respond to all of them and I just want to say thank you, it means a
