  2. Could you do a video on your favorite light set ups? There are so many brands and ways its overwhelming 😥 normally i just use reptisafe but I'd like to know your opinion!

  3. Hey Alex, or anyone else who needs to ship live animals, my rescue works with many transport people who will pick up and deliver the animals to their desired location.
My point is that with all of us who are out to prevent cruelty to animals, that I’m sure good, reliable transport is in demand. Even if any of u r just shipping a cute dog to its new home. I can help. Just message me and let me know.

  4. Story time!

When I going to turn 16, for my birthday, I wanted a ball python! I look much into them, the set up, healthcare, feeding, possible sicknesses ect… And after being comfortable with the idea of possibly owning one, I went to look at breeders for about a month or two before October aka the month of my birthday. And I came down to ‘Under ground reptiles’ which seemed as a good idea at the time. We (my mom and I) looked around on the website for the Ball pythons I was wanting. Which was basically a ‘bit lighter, not natural looking snake’ because my brother is autistic! So as we looked we found one! A albino ball python. But as we went to order it they just sold them all! So, my mom called them, because we had payed for the snake but something went off with it all and they said to call… so we did! They helped with fining a new snake. With understanding of my brother being autistic and all. And , the stinger bee came up! She was absolutely beautiful! However, they had just got her in, without keeping her at least a few days, making sure she would eat or was even healthy they chose to agree to adjust some things and we agreed aswell to take her without knowing the possibilities. So a day or so goes by and she finally makes it here! And let me tell you I was in love! She was such a beauty, so adorable! And surprisingly active to be so stressed. So after taking her out of the box and snapping a quick photo we put her in her enclosure so she could get adjusted….a week later we tried to get her out and handle her. Which went great! But I noticed she looked alittle thin, and this was around the time we were going to try to feed her so I put her back. The next day, we went out and got the frozen mouse to give her-as they said she was eating well. But, She didn’t take it. She hid. So, me being the 16 year old I was I thought she just needed time and I put her back-I waited again and tried but she didn’t take it. Frozen or live! This went on for a few months! She was so young it effect her greatly so. I took her to my friend whom was studying to be a vet and had/still has many reptiles, she helped with force feeding her which was the last thing I wanted to do. But, Sarabi (the snake) finally ate! After what was 4 months I think she ate! For that day I was the happiest 16 year old there was. She seemed fine for the rest of the week. She acted fine when I would mist her enclosure, she was fine when I would clean her water and fill it up. But, not once did I check on her. So, a day or so after cleaning I check her and her stomach caved in. We rushed to my friend and she said to get a vet appointment ASAP. So we did for the next day as early as we could! However, the morning came and my mother went to get her and Sarabi had passed.

I tell you all this to say-Look into the breeders you’re buying from, do even more research then you think you need and make sure the animal has ate! I was 15, almost 16 and I didn’t think it all through, I made mistakes! But now being 18, I plead that you all MAKE SURE you know all you can about the pets you want. Look into them deeply and the people you get them from! Don’t do what I did. I was too excited and didn’t see the red flags within it all. So please, always look into the animal as much as you can that you are interested in! 😊

  5. Seeing so many people neglecting these animals, even when given plenty of instruction, it makes me lose faith in the hobby. Emerald Scales seems like one of (if not the only) company that actually wants reptiles to have a decent quality of life.

  6. I’m not good at judging if a snake looks healthy or not but that poor little guy looks a little thin, I hope y’all have an easy time with him

  7. Those mountains are beautiful. I’ve never left South Carolina so seeing that stuff is super foreign for me.

Best of luck to the tegu and python! They seem hardy so my hopes are high.

  8. BP is a beauty, sorry to hear the former owner was having such issue trying to get it to eat
don't know if the stuck shed was a breeder issue or an owner issue, though that's what humidity boxes are for

  9. When he was complaining about Virginia's driving laws I FELT THAT. As someone who comes from Texas where it can be the wild west in a lot of places… Visiting Virginia fucking sucks.

  10. THAT looks like a MISERABLE TRADE-OFF, on BEING GREEN, MR, GREEN!
Looks like a WHOLE LOTTA WASTED TIME, to just SIT, & CHARGE!

  11. You should charge 100 dollars if the animal arrives dead because of bad condition and force them to agree to it before they try to send anything

  12. My rainbow boa was from underground reptiles. She did not eat until I fixed my own husbandry issues. They had amazing customer support and I would definitely buy from them again.

  13. In regards to the tegu in this instance it was lucky that it was a tegu, studies have shown that they can generate heat from within in cold conditions, so perhaps that's what happened and is how it survived! Real silly senders anyway for taking the risk. Good work man! 👌

  14. Its wild you knowninwatxh the underground reptiles channel and they seem like knowledgable folks BUT you go to reviews and get terrible feedback about them.

  15. i really like your vlogs
your normal videos are really entertaining but these chiller paced ones are nice
dont worry about doing them too much

  16. I passed you on the way home from visiting my mom. I looked at my fiance and was like "dang, how do I go to school to do what he does?"

Got my GED in 2008 to be able to work and help my mom pay bills. None of my employers have ever cared and I've even been employed in a position where I educate teachers. Life is funny.

  17. I ordered my central american boa and my snapping turtle from underground reptiles and the where both health and still alive and doing good…some people just are bad pet owners…DON'T BLAME UNDERGROUND REPTILES

  18. I think it's safe to say that people should be prompted to think about what their ideal pet is. Not what they could have, but what they should have. Pets are not accessories, they are living beings that deserve respect and attention.

  19. Hey GoHerping! I recently took a trip from NC to Virginia myself and those “Speed will be enforced by aircraft” signs are just for show. lol It’s a program that hasn’t been funded in years. Love your rescue vlogs and all the hard work you do!

  20. I got my B&W tegu from underground reptiles 7 months ago, and I'm shocked at how fast they grow lol. I didn't have any problems with my order from them, sad to see so many ppl do.

  21. when you were filming the drive I noticed pilot mountain, the big knob up on a hill, and I live about two hours away from there!!

  22. It's so sad how little people care for other living creatures, especially when we keep them captive for our own interests. Mistakes happen, but the amount of neglect is a bit shocking. You guys do good work. Keep it up.

  23. I got a a baby mangrove and a baby water monitor both from underground reptiles ,and both where sick not eating and I’m alll aprund horrible I did all I could, I called underground reptiles and they kept sending me emails telling me to call another day cause ___ person wasn’t in that manages this both Walsh past away and after over a month of passing underground still didn’t ever help me

  24. Alex, you are the best. Every video you post is pure gold. Your care and passion for these animals is inspiring. Thank you for being you.

  25. I didn't realize that might be a common thing with Underground Reptile. I bought a hatchling blood python from them, he never ate and was sickly (for a blood, thats a bad sign). I managed to force feed after a few weeks not eating, but unfortunately he just never ate by himself and eventually I checked on him and he died.

  26. I almost snapped on a company here in Vegas because I saw they were selling Spider Ball Pythons. 😑 How can you knowingly breed an animal with issues? And how can you know its not in pain when it cant fucking talk. Excuse my language. But it gets me heated.

  27. Thank God that tegu was alive, nothing makes me angrier than someone carelessly killing an innocent baby. I'm proud of what you do to help them. Agreed, love the roads/beauty here in VA, hate the ridiculous laws. Although, you apparently dont need a license in my county to keep venomous, odd. So glad that ball python is in decent shape and can be rehabilitated! ❤

  28. Beautiful ball python! I know you're very experienced with them, and I hope this doesn't come across the right way (I'm sure you won't even see this tbh) but a ball python is more likely to NOT eat a pinky.

I'm not surprised he didn't take it because even right out of the egg they are capable of eating regular, small mice. Pinkies are just balls of fat and have no nutrition to them, and most balls are picky about their prey on general. If it isn't the right size, it won't eat. If it isn't warm enough, they won't eat. Did you try a f/t small mouse? Did you try blow-drying it to warm the mouse to proper temp? It's most likely the snake doesn't recognize the pinky as food but would eat if given a larger size prey item.

  29. Anyone who cares: there's a breeder here in Greenville sc (about 5 hours from Alex) who breeds spiders and sells them on the greenville/upstate craigslist. He takes shit care of his animals and is aware of spider wobble of course but still "specializes" in breeding them. I flag his ads they are easy to spot if anyone would like to join me he will eventually quit if he keeps getting flagged.

  30. Living in Virginia and having driven to and from Raleigh several times, I tried to see if I could recognize where he was, haha. I recognize the terrain but couldn't read any of the signs and honestly all the mountains here kinda look the same, so. Oh well lol

  31. There are lots of shelters around the world that take in dogs and cats but you are the only one I know who does this for reptiles. It's so easy for people to get reptiles now, people really need your services. Love watching your videos.

  32. Underground reptiles suck I brought a bearded dragon from them and it died in 2 weeks and the return policy suck so basically I lost out and I paid 150 dollars for it 😩 don’t buy from them just my opinion !!!

  33. You were literally just minutes from me in Virginia! You can absolutely blame the state for your issues. I do all of the time. 😂😂

  34. When you're from North Carolina and went to a trip to Iowa in november and you went through Virginia so you're recognizing everything he's showing
